Way back in the late twenties in 1949, the fondest ambition of several parents who believe in the importance of catholic education was fulfilled when the late Fr. Alfredo Cordero together with his co-founders opened the Our Mother of Perpetual Succor Academy. Seventy-six (76) pioneering young men and women enrolled as first year and second year students. Fr. Alfredo Cordero was then the first director with Mr. Esteban Abat as the principal.


Upon marshalling the efforts and goodwill of some of the concerned people of Torrijos, Fr. Cordero was able to form the board of trustees of the school, which was approved and adopted on May 17, 1952.


Members of the board of said Stock Corporation were as follows:

Members of the trustees and concurrently the stockholders were:
•Rev. Fr. Lorenzo Minorca
•Rev. Fr. Eladio Lipat
•Rev. Fr. Mariano Averia.


Rev. Fr. Cordero was authorized to solicit shares for the school and the 15 generous people favorably responded with shares ranging from PhP 50 to PhP 400 each. Mr. Jose Rosales was elected as the treasurer of the corporation.


In June 1952, the R.V.M sisters came, led by Mother Michaela Cuenca at the helm of the school. Third year and fourth year students were admitted. In MARCH 1953, the maiden harvest of nine graduates opened the threshold of OUR MOTHER OF PERPETUAL SUCCOR to the world of success. During the administration of Mother Leonica Liabres, the pressure of the school budgetary contains was felt.


Considering the school as a catholic school, which prepares the youth to be more useful to their countrymen, and to show their love and affection to the school, the 31 shareholders of the stock corporation of OMPSA donated their respective shares which was receive by the in charge of the school. Mother Ma. Andrea Montejeros profoundly thanked them for their generosity on July 22, 1953.


During the incumbency of Mother Ortis and Mother Belen Tolentino, the school suffered from an enormous debt and in 1961, the R.V.M. sisters bid adieu to OMPSA,which was under the state of hopelessness and despair.


It was the late Bishop Alfredo Ma. Obviar who said, “Those who have less in life must have more education.” He sent a newly ordained priest, Fr. Conrado N. Reynoso as parish priest and director of OMPSA. In 1972, Fr. Reynoso left for a new assignment in MARCOPPER Mining Corporation bequeathing to Mr. Esteban Abat joined our creator.


Miss Emelda Quijano, the doyen of the group, manages the school assisted by Mr. Enriqueta Fabul. The late Rev. Fr. Rodolfo Red was appointed as the parish priest and director of the school but he got sick, so Fr. Orestes Huerta replaced him as the school Chaplain.


On June 7, 1990, Bishop Rafael M. Lim instructed the newly assigned Director and parish priest of Torrijos to rebuild OMPSA because of the great havoc and devastation caused by the two successive super typhoons which untimely hit the province.


After 23 years of guiding and shepherding the school, Miss Imelda Quijano retired last June 2000. Mrs. Enriqueta R. Fabul assumed the principalship. Bishop Jose F. Oliveros appointed Rev.Fr.Bienvenido Marticio who was then the school chaplain as the director of the school.


On June 13, 2001 in a meeting initiated by Rev. Fr. Bong Marticio, the Board of Trustees was recognize headed by Bishop.Jose Oliveros.

Due to the transfer of the incumbent Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Most Rev. Bishop Jose Oliveros to the diocese of Bulacan, the newly assigned bishop Most. Rev. Bishop. Reynaldo Gonda Evangelista takes his post.


At present, the school is under the stewardship of Rev. Fr. Edwin Sajer who succeeded Rev. Fr. Ching Sartillo. The academic affairs are solely under Mrs. Enriqueta Fabul with 15 teachers, Rev. Senen Milambiling is the Diocesan School Superintendent. The administration and faculty members sincerely that OMPSA would continue to strive and to maintain the highest standard of Christianism among the faculty members and patriotism in the community.
